The Hard Value of Soft Analytics
While the current mainstream analytics are becoming more intricate and granular the real competative edge will come to teams looking at the 'soft' analytics metrics. There is no doubt that there are gains to be made with the mainstream methods - those extra 1%ers that everybody is looking for. Just as Moneyball changed the way sport is looked at, 'soft' analytics will be doing the same but in magnitudes that will dwarf the 1%ers.
